Careers at Clementine ABA

Hire slowly. Train deeply. Retain hard.

Most ABA practices grow by hiring fast and hoping retention follows. We grow the other way around. Clementine ABA is the place to build a career in autism services without burning out - manageable caseloads, weekly supervision, training before your first family session, and a team that invests in retention, rather then replacement.

  • BCBA caseloads capped to protect clinical quality
  • Scheduled, recurring clinical supervision - not the occasional drive-by
  • Training before you ever step into a family session
How we hire

Four things we look for, every time.

We pass on plenty of qualified candidates. The technical bar is high, but it’s only the starting line. What matters most to us is whether someone fits how we work - and how families experience us week to week, so we can build trust with the families we serve.

  1. Clinical depth that holds up under supervision.

Anyone can run a play-based session on a good day. We hire clinicians and technicians whose work holds up under weekly 1:1 supervision, monthly progress review, and a parent watching from across the room - every week, not just orientation week.

  2. Warm with adults, warmer with children.

ABA only works if a child trusts the person delivering it. We screen heavily for warmth in candidate interactions - not just credentials. If we wouldn't want them in our own kid's room, we don't bring them into yours.

  3. Willingness to be coached, not just to coach.

Every Clementine team member receives ongoing supervision and feedback. The best clinicians we have welcome it. The candidates we pass on are the ones who treat feedback as a personal slight.

  4. Stays. Doesn't churn.

Continuity matters for kids. We design hiring, scheduling, supervision, and compensation around retention - not headcount growth. If a candidate looks like a 6-month stop on the way to somewhere else, we usually don't extend an offer.

What competitors hide

The standards we hire and schedule around.

Most ABA-clinic careers pages obscure the operational realities candidates actually want to evaluate. The principles below are non-negotiable. Choosing the right ABA team is about more than a job description. It’s about finding a workplace built on strong clinical standards, meaningful support, and a shared commitment to quality care. These are the principles that guide our team.

  • Capped
    Caseloads, every role
We don't stretch BCBA's, technicians, or coordinators past what's clinically safe.
  • Scheduled
    Recurring 1:1 supervision
Every clinician has a standing 1:1 with clinical leadership - not the occasional drive-by.
  • Training
    Training before family sessions
Supervised case observation, shadowing, classroom learning - we give you the tools to succeed.
  • Capped
    Billable productivity targets
We don't push staff to clinically-unsafe billable percentages. There's a ceiling, on purpose.

If this sounds like you, reach out. We'd love for you to join the Clementine family.

Open paths

Three roles. What you'd actually do.

Clementine ABA hires its team through three key roles. Below is the substance of each - written for candidates, not recruiters.

Open path

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Design and supervise child-specific treatment plans.

Caseload
Capped - we don't overload our analysts
Supervision you receive
Scheduled, recurring 1:1 with clinical leadership
Supervision you give
Scheduled supervision for each RBT on your case
Paperwork time
Built into the week - not nights and weekends
You're a fit if
  • Designing assessments and treatment plans is the work you want to spend time on.
  • You want supervision conversations that are about your cases, not your billable percentage.
  • You see caregiver coaching as the core of the plan, not an add-on.
Not the right fit if
  • You want an oversized caseload to maximize comp.
  • You are uncomfortable at recurring observation of your sessions.
  • You prefer to write plans once and not revisit them.
Growth track

Clinical lead → clinical director → director of clinical services. We aim to promote from inside before we hire from outside.

Open path

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Run sessions, build trust, capture data.

Caseload
Consistent - same families, week over week
Supervision you receive
Observation and 1:1 coaching from your supervising BCBA
Training before sessions
Shadowing, classroom, sign-off - training tools to succeed.
Session continuity
You're a fit if
  • You want to actually know the children you work with, not float between cases.
  • You learn well in environments with recurring observation and live coaching.
  • You're interested in pursuing BCBA certification or formal continuing education.
Not the right fit if
  • You want gig-style scheduling with different homes every day.
  • You see supervision as someone watching over your shoulder rather than developing you.
  • You expect to start running sessions before training is complete.
Growth track

RBT → senior RBT → lead therapist. CEU and supervision-hours support for analysts-in-training is part of the role.

Family Coordinator

First call families get. Their advocate through care.

Family load
Capped - we won't stretch coordinators past what they can hold
Responsiveness
Caregivers reach a real human, not voicemail
Scope
Intake, insurance, scheduling, family advocacy
Background fit
Healthcare admin, social work, intake coordination, special-ed support
You're a fit if
  • You're the person friends call to navigate paperwork in their own lives.
  • You can hold both an empathetic parent call and a technical insurance conversation in the same morning.
  • Multilingual is a plus - Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, ASL all welcomed.
Not the right fit if
  • You want a strictly clerical role with no family contact.
  • You'd rather not learn the clinical and insurance vocabulary deeply.
  • Sitting with families through hard moments isn't something you want to do.
Growth track

Family coordinator → senior coordinator → Director of operations. Coordinators can move up the chain with our support.

We hire slowly. If a path isn't actively posted, tell us anyway - we keep a small bench and we'll reach out when the next seat opens.

FAQ

Common questions from candidates.

About the work

  • Are you a national chain or a private-equity rollup?

Neither. Clementine ABA is an independent led practice. While we plan to enter into more states in the future, we put care before profits. That’s the whole point.

  • What hours do you typically schedule?

Most BCBA and RBT roles are weekday daytime, aligned with school-aged children and pre-K families. We don’t expect anyone to flex into evenings or weekends unless a specific family need calls for it - and that’s paid time, not goodwill.

  • Will I have to work across multiple locations?

We schedule for continuity. If you’re center-based, you’re at the same center. If you’re in-home, we cluster your families geographically. Multi-location floating isn’t a model we use - it’s bad for kids and bad for staff retention.

Training and growth

  • What does training actually look like for a new hire?

For RBTs: training before any direct family work to make sure you are ready and confident, if needed. For BCBAs: clinical orientation, case-shadow time with current clinical leadership, and a structured ramp before holding cases independently, if needed. For coordinators: intake-system training, insurance landscape, and consent/HIPAA fundamentals.

  • Do you support continuing education?

Yes. Ongoing CEUs for BCBA’s, structured supervision for RBT’s, and supervision hours for team members pursuing BCBA certification. Growing the people who work here is part of how we grow the practice.

  • Can I pursue BCBA certification while working as an RBT?

Yes - and many of our team members do. Your supervision hours with our BCBAs count toward the BACB requirement, and we structure schedules so coursework and supervised hours fit alongside the role.

Comp and benefits

  • Why don't you publish exact salary numbers on this page?

Comp varies by role, region, certification, and experience. We won’t lowball you - we hire slowly because we want offers to stick.

  • Do you offer fully remote roles?

Clinical roles are in-person - sessions happen with families, in homes, centers, and schools. Family coordinator roles include some hybrid flexibility depending on region. We don’t pretend ABA can be delivered through a screen.

Hiring process

  • What does the interview process look like?

Our interview process is designed to be straightforward and conversational. We focus on your experience, clinical approach, and how your values align with our team.

  • What qualities do you look for in candidates?

At Clementine we look for team members who are clinically strong, compassionate, collaborative, open to feedback, and committed to providing quality care.

  • Can I apply if there is not a current opening?

Yes. We welcome hearing from talented candidates and will keep your information in mind as future opportunities become available.

Have a question we didn't cover?

If you're considering applying, a short conversation with our recruiting team will get you specifics about caseload, supervision, and comp in your region - faster than reading more bullet points.
